THE 2019 AFRICAN TOUR QUALIFYING SCHOOL
RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
The AFRICAN TOUR will introduce for the first time the Professional Qualifying School for the 2019 season. From then onwards, the Q-School will be held at the end of each season to establish the Professional Players, not otherwise exempted, who will qualify for the AFRICAN TOUR CARD each year.

The top 25 from the 2018 West Africa Golf Tour Order of Merit will gain automatic entry to the new African Tour to be launched in 2019, while others will have to go through qualifying school to earn their place on tour.

The Qualifying School will be conducted in one stage of stroke play at two different dates and venues:

1. 18th December 2018 at IBB International Golf & Country Club, Abuja, Nigeria
2. 18th February 2019 at Lakowe Lakes Golf & Country Estate, Lagos, Nigeria
The prize money on offer will be $300. The winner will get $150, runner up $100 and the third $50.
To enter the Qualifying School, players are required to fill in the application form and send it by email at info@theafricantour.com. Participation in the Qualifying School will only be confirmed when the full
payment has been received, subject to available spots. Total amount of spots available at the AFRICAN Tour
Qualifying School will be a maximum of 25 players per each of the two Q- schools.
1. Format: The 2019 AFRICAN Tour Qualifying School will be played over 18 holes of stroke play. At the conclusion of 18 holes, players will be ranked according to score. Only Players scoring 78 gross and below will qualify to be members of the African Tour for the 2019 season.
2. Eligibility of Entry: The African Tour Qualifying School is open to: (i) All Professional golfers (ii) Category 1 players (once qualified from Q-School category 1 players will be required to maintain the gross score of 78 for each of the days of the tournament to be held immediately after to become a Tour Pro).
Note – Amateur Status- Pursuant to the Rules of Amateur Status as approved by R&A Rules Ltd, an amateur golfer may compete in any qualifying competition for a professional Tour without breaching amateur status rules, provided that in advance of play and in writing, the golfer waives their right to any prize money in the competition. This declaration will be available for completion at Player Registration at both venues of Qualifying School.

4. Entry deadline: 11th February 2019
5. Withdrawals A player may withdraw at any time, provided notification is received by the AFRICAN Tour. Withdrawals prior to the Entry Deadline will receive a full refund of the entry fee. Players who withdraw after the Entry Deadline, but before close of Player Registration, will be entitled to a 50% refund of the entry fee.
6. Notification of acceptance of Entry/Qualifying School. Once an application has been accepted by the AFRICAN Tour (only after receipt and approval of any relevant documentation and the full entry fee), applicants will be emailed a Confirmation of Entry. Draw will be published on the African Tour website: theafricantour.com two days before the Qualifying school. Any player not registered by 3pm on the day of registration (17th February 2019) will be removed from the draw.
